Nazara Technologies (NAZARA.NS) is set to launch the globally recognized PC game 'Bodycam' within Fortnite, marking its debut on the platform.
The move brings Bodycam's hyper-realistic tactical gameplay, previously acclaimed for its photorealistic graphics and immersive combat mechanics on PC, to Fortnite's extensive user base.
Nitish Mittersain, CEO of Nazara Technologies, stated, “This marks a significant milestone for Bodycam and represents Nazara's initial foray into Fortnite, leveraging the Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN).” Mittersain added that Fortnite is becoming a central hub for creators, brands, and gamers and that they are bringing a premium PC franchise like Bodycam to the Fortnite ecosystem.”
Developed in collaboration with UEFN creator Virstate and with support from Reissad Studio, the island in Fortnite is designed to integrate tactical action with community-driven modes, optimized for Fortnite's global audience across console, PC, and mobile.
Zakaria and Mahdi, founders of Virstate, commented, “Bringing Bodycam to Fortnite aims to inspire other leading gaming IPs to adopt UEFN, showcasing the platform’s vast potential through one of the most ambitious experiences to date.”
Luca and Leo, founders of Reissad Studio, remarked, “Bodycam was designed to redefine realism in gaming. Using UEFN, we're eager to provide millions of Fortnite players globally with this vision at no cost.”
The game, optimized for UEFN using Unreal Engine 5.3, will feature enhanced lighting, sound, and multiplayer balancing. It will offer two multiplayer modes: Gun Game and Team Deathmatch, with creator-submitted maps to be introduced soon.
This launch aligns with Nazara's strategy to spearhead next-generation global game IP publishing and platform convergence, utilizing Fortnite and other emerging platforms to expand games worldwide.
Nazara Technologies, publicly listed in India, encompasses key businesses like Curve Games, Kiddopia, Animal Jam, Fusebox Games (Love Island, Big Brother), World Cricket Championship, and Sportskeeda, alongside offline gaming businesses such as Funky Monkeys and Smaash Entertainment.
