Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) to enhance India's sovereign cloud ecosystem. The collaboration aims to develop scalable, AI-enabled cloud platforms that align with India's data localization mandates and support the digital transformation of critical public sector services.
The partnership will focus on integrating indigenous innovations into TCS' sovereign cloud stack, supporting the secure hosting of critical government applications such as e-Sanjeevani and Dial 112, the company said in a statement. It will also ensure adherence to data protection standards and enhance security and compliance across sectors like healthcare, defence, smart cities, and BFSI.
Magesh Ethirajan, Director General of C-DAC, stated that the collaboration marks a significant milestone in India's journey toward technological self-reliance, combining C-DAC's expertise in indigenous innovation with TCS' industry presence to accelerate the development and sustainability of sovereign cloud platforms.
Girish Ramachandran, President – Growth Markets at TCS, noted that the MoU combines indigenous R&D, public sector infrastructure, and TCS' enterprise expertise to deliver secure, scalable cloud platforms.
TCS said it works with several government ministries and supports services that benefit nearly 7 out of 10 Indians daily, from enabling stock exchanges to enhancing passport issuance systems. Tata Group entity TCS has a workforce of over 6,00,000 employees in 55 countries and 202 service delivery centres across the world.
