For the audiophiles out there, Volkswagen has now introduced the Virtus sedan and the Taigun SUV Sound Editions. Complete with exclusive graphics and an upgraded sound system, the new cars have been launched just in time for the company’s Big Rush Celebrations which offers attractive benefits and offers on some of their other cars, too.

The exterior design of the Taigun and Virtus Sound Editions are distinguished by the 'Sound' decals adorning the B and C pillars. These badges serve as an immediate visual cue, signalling the special nature of these editions. For the Taigun, enthusiasts have the option of embracing a contrasting white roof and ORVM caps, adding an extra layer of personalisation to this already stylish compact SUV.

Embracing a palette of four sophisticated colour options—Carbon Steel Grey, Lava Blue, Rising Blue and Wild Cherry Red—the Sound Editions offer a canvas for drivers to express their individuality. The exterior enhancements don't stop at badges; they extend to the C pillars with equalizer graphics signifying the audio-focused nature of the cars.
The Sound Editions greet passengers with an interior that befits their name.

The pièce de résistance is an audio system upgrade featuring a subwoofer and an amplifier sourced from the GT Plus trim.

Accompanying this auditory feast is a wealth of tech and comfort features. A 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system takes centre stage complete with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The digital driver’s display, measuring 8 inches, provides essential information with modern flair. Ventilated and powered front seats, a sunroof and keyless entry with push-button start/stop are some of the other features.

Volkswagen's commitment to safety remains unwavering, as evident in the Sound Editions. Equipped with ABS and EBD, six airbags, electronic stability control, reverse parking camera with sensors, and a tyre pressure monitoring system, these models ensure a secure and confident driving experience.

Beneath the hood, the Sound Editions are powered by a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine generating 115PS of power and 178Nm of torque. The power is harnessed through a choice of transmissions—a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic. For those seeking an extra surge of power, both the Taigun and Virtus offer a more potent 150PS 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine, providing an exhilarating driving experience.

Commenting on the launch, Ashish Gupta, brand director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars India, said, “At Volkswagen, we have always believed in enhancing the value we offer to customers through our safe, fun-to-drive, German-engineered cars. The Sound Edition is a testament to this very thought, as we aim to augment acoustic experiences and make them as exciting as driving a Volkswagen. With the introduction of the Sound Edition, we are also glad to roll out our year-end bonanza with the launch of Big Rush. We are certain that the attractive benefits on offer will appeal to discerning customers as we introduce them to one of India’s safest line-up of cars.”

The Taigun, positioned as a formidable player in the compact SUV segment, locks horns with competitors such as the Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Hyundai Creta, Skoda Kushaq, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Honda Elevate, MG Astor and Citroen C3 Aircross. The Virtus competes in the sedan arena against the Honda City, Hyundai Verna, Skoda Slavia and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz.

As far as pricing goes, the Taigun Sound Edition starts from Rs 16.33 lakh while the Virtus Sound Edition gets a sticker that starts at Rs 15.52 lakh (ex-showroom).

The launch of the Sound Editions coincides with Volkswagen's Big Rush celebrations, offering customers across India attractive benefits on their favourite German-engineered models. This year-end bonanza adds an extra layer of appeal for those looking to bring home the Taigun or Virtus Sound Editions.
