Toyota Kirloskar Motors has discreetly launched a new limited edition of the Innova Hycross based on the GX trim. The new variant is expected to last only till December or till stocks last and will come at a premium of Rs 40,000 over the standard car.
The Limited Edition Innova Hycross will be available in both 7-seater as well as 8-seater formats and the updates are purely aesthetic. On the outside, the MPV gets a new chrome garnish that runs across the centre of the grille. The bumpers at both ends, too, get a new faux silver skid plate. Unlike the higher VX trim of the Innova Hycross, the GX misses out on the bumper garnishes.
Over on the inside, the differences are a little more substantial. The dashboard and door trim for example have been upgraded to the soft-touch chestnut brown finish available on the VX trim. The window controls also get a faux wood trim and seat upholstery is finished in a black-and-brown dual-tone scheme.
Since the Limited Edition is based on the GX variant, it gets the naturally aspirated 2.0-litre petrol engine that produces 172 hp of maximum power and 205 Nm of peak torque. This is then mated to a CVT automatic gearbox.
Unfortunately, the Limited Edition is not available in the more fuel-efficient hybrid variant, but Toyota has probably done this to increase sales of the less popular naturally aspirated petrol. The Innova Hycross GX Limited Edition has been launched at a starting price of Rs 20.07 lakh going up to Rs 20.22 lakh.
