Maruti Suzuki India today unveiled the Victoris, its second mid-size SUV after the Grand Vitara. Confirming Moneycontrol newsbreak, the new Victoris has become Maruti's first car ever to get Dolby Atmos technology and Level-2 ADAS. While the new Victoris also offers a CNG option, Maruti has introduced an underbody CNG tank, almost 15 years after introducing CNG technology to the market in 2010, confirming another Moneycontrol newsbreak.
The bookings for the new Victoris have opened today for a token amount of Rs 11,000. While the new Victoris price has not been announced yet, the SUV will be sold from Maruti's Arena dealerships, which also offer the Brezza. Other Maruti SUVs like the Fronx, Grand Vitara and Jimny are retailed from the Nexa dealerships.

The mid-size SUV segment is dominated by four models -- Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Kia Seltos and Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder. One USP of this segment is that most of the models present here are loaded to the gills with features. Even low-volume models like the Tata Curvv, Honda Elevate, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun and MG Astor come with a lot of bells and whistles.

Just take the example of Level-2 ADAS, the Creta, Seltos, Curvv, Elevate, and Astor already have this feature. To compete with the established names in this segment, a feature-loaded model is a necessity, and Maruti has taken that route with the Victoris.

Apart from Level-2 ADAS and Dolby Atmos, the Victoris boasts a powered tailgate with gesture control, Alexa auto voice assistance, front ventilated seats, a powered driver seat, a fully digital instrument cluster, 64-colour ambient lighting, a PM 2.5 air purification system and a panoramic sunroof. The Suzuki Connect technology offers over 60 features.

The Victoris is also the second Maruti car to achieve a 5-star safety rating at Bharat NCAP after the Dzire. It scored 31.66 points out of 32 in the adult occupant protection (AOP) category and 43 points out of 49 in the child occupant protection (COP) category. It was rated at five stars in both categories.

If we talk about the safety features, it gets six airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), anti-lock braking system (ABS) with electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD), hill hold assist and seatbelt reminder for all seats as standard. The top-spec variants are offered with a 360-degree camera and head-up display (HUD) as well.

The new Victoris shares powertrains with the Grand Vitara. The K-Series 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine (103PS and 139Nm) can be clubbed with a 5-speed MT or a 6-speed AT. The CNG option (88PS and 121Nm) can be had with a 5-speed MT. Then you have the 1.5-litre strong hybrid unit (combined - 116PS and 141Nm) with e-CVT. The Victoris also gets ALLGRIP Select 4X4 option.

The Victoris will not only be sold in the domestic market, but also exported. According to Maruti, it will be shipped to over 100 countries across the world.
