SSC MTS Recruitment 2024: The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has announced an extension to the application deadline for the Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) recruitment exam 2024. Additionally, the commission has increased the total number of vacancies available.

Candidates can now register for the exam on the official SSC website (ssc.gov.in) until August 3, 2024. This provides additional time for those who may not have been able to apply earlier.

Previously, there were 8,326 positions up for recruitment. This number has now risen to 9,583, offering a significant boost to applicants. The breakdown includes 6,144 vacancies for MTS posts and 3,439 for Havaldar positions in the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) and Central Bureau of Narcotics (CBN).

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the MTS posts, candidates must be between 18 and 25 years old. The age limit for Havaldar posts is 18 to 27 years. Relaxation in the upper age limit applies for reserved category candidates. The minimum educational qualification is Class 10 (or equivalent) passed from a recognized board by August 1, 2024.

Exam Pattern

The SSC MTS 2024 exam is tentatively scheduled for October-November 2024. The commission will open a window for application corrections on August 16 and 17, 2024.

The SSC MTS exam will be conducted online. The question paper will comprise four sections: Reasoning, Numerical Ability, English Language, and General Awareness. A Physical Efficiency Test (PET) or Physical Standard Test (PST) will be conducted only for the Havaldar posts.

Step 3. If you're a new user, you'll need to register yourself on the SSC website. If you already have an account, log in using your credentials.

Step 4. Complete the online application form with all the required personal, educational, and other relevant details. Ensure accuracy as any mistakes can lead to rejection.

Step 5. Scanned copies of your photograph, signature, and other necessary documents as specified in the notification will need to be uploaded.

Step 6. Pay the application fee online through the available payment methods.

Step 7. Carefully review all the information you've entered before submitting the application form.

Step 8. Take a printout of the confirmation page for future reference.

Registration Fee

The application fee for the general category is Rs. 100. However, women candidates, individuals belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), ex-servicemen (ESM) eligible for reservation, and persons with disabilities (PwBD) are exempt from paying any fees. The deadline for fee payment has also been extended to August 4, 2024.
