Vidya Balan recently attracted attention with her stunning physical transformation. Known for her confidence and advocacy of body positivity, the actress has been drawing significant notice for her weight loss.
Her noticeably slimmer physique has left many fans and industry insiders astounded, sparking discussions across social media and among movie buffs. Vidya’s transformation has come as a surprise to many, as she has been a vocal advocate for body positivity, inspiring many with her journey of self-acceptance over the years.
Vidya, who is widely adored for her role in Kahaani, has always championed the message that beauty comes in all shapes and sizes. She has never shied away from discussing her struggles with body image, and her openness has made her a relatable figure for many. Despite her success and accolades, Vidya has faced a long battle with self-esteem regarding her body. The actress has openly discussed how her weight fluctuations have often made her the subject of public scrutiny. In fact, she once revealed in an interview that her weight became a “national issue” in the media, which only compounded her insecurities.
In a previous interview with ETimes, Vidya reflected on her body image struggles, sharing that her weight became a national issue, she was uncomfortable in her own skin. "I have always been a fat girl," she admitted. "I wouldn’t say that I am at a stage where my fluctuating weight doesn’t bother me anymore at all. But I have come a long way. I have had hormonal issues all my life. For the longest time, I hated my body. I thought it had betrayed me. On the days I was under the pressure of looking my best, I would bloat up and I would be so angry and frustrated,"
Vidya went on to reveal that she had faced hormonal issues for much of her life, which contributed to her weight challenges. This made her feel like her body had betrayed her at times, especially when she struggled with bloating and other physical changes that came with fluctuating weight.
Vidya's frustration with her body was compounded by the pressure to look her best, both for her career and public appearances. On days when she felt the weight of this expectation, her body would often react with bloating, leaving her frustrated and angry. However, over time, Vidya found a way to cope and embrace her body as it was, despite the emotional and physical challenges she faced.
“The day my body stops functioning, I am not going to be around,” Vidya said.
“Over time, I accepted that my body is the only thing that is keeping me alive because the day my body stops functioning, I am not going to be around. I have a lot of gratitude for my body.” Vidya emphasized the importance of self-acceptance, explaining how with each passing day, she has grown to love and appreciate her body more, despite the ongoing struggles. “It doesn’t matter what I have been through, I am alive because of this body. It’s blood and bones. With each day I have begun to love and accept myself more, but it’s not been easy. You have to fake it till you make it.” she added, acknowledging that confidence and self-love didn’t come naturally but were the result of consistent effort.
