Celebrity hairstylist Aalim Hakim has always been known for his precision cuts, signature styles, and a client list that reads like the guest list of a blockbuster premiere. But every now and then, he drops a detail that reminds people why he is considered one of the most in-demand names in the grooming world. His latest revelation about his fees in Dubai did exactly that.

During a recent interaction, Hakim explained that getting a haircut from him outside India is not just a grooming choice, it is an event. In his words, "We're getting a haircut done from Alim Hakeem in Dubai to more than 5,000 dirhams. Plus my flight ticket. Flight ticket." The number alone made fans pause. Converted to Indian currency, the fee crosses one lakh rupees — and that’s before factoring in travel.

Hakim didn’t shy away from explaining why his services operate at such a premium. For him, the equation is simple: people aren’t just paying for a haircut, they are paying for decades of skill, consistency and the credibility of someone trusted by India’s biggest stars. His clientele includes names like Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni, Hardik Pandya, Ranbir Kapoor, and Ranveer Singh — people who are photographed daily, scrutinised constantly, and can’t afford even a slightly off day when it comes to appearance.

What this really means is Hakim’s calendar is nearly impossible to break into. "My dates are pretty packed," he said, adding that anyone wanting to book him must plan well in advance. "Somebody's trying to get a haircut done for me. I need to know... In fact, they need to know in two or three months prior." It’s a schedule more rigid than a film shoot, and he stands by it.

Hakim also made it clear that he is extremely particular about who he chooses to work with. "I need to know the profile of who's A I'm going to do. So, I'm very selective who's A I'm doing," he said. This isn’t gatekeeping for the sake of it; it’s the way he protects his time, keeps his quality high, and maintains the brand he has built.

For most people, paying over 5,000 dirhams plus an international flight for a haircut is unimaginable. For a small, elite group, it’s the price of looking exactly the way they want — and knowing the man behind the scissors is the best in the business.
