Vijay Deverakonda to join Suriya in Venky Atluri’s Suriya 46: Report

Following much anticipation, Tamil superstar Suriya has finally revealed his upcoming film, his 46th picture, in which he will collaborate with director Venky Atluri for the first time.

Suriya made the announcement at Retro's pre-release event, where he not only confirmed the partnership but also gave a sneak peek at an intriguing new chapter that is mostly set in Hyderabad.

According to reports, Telugu superstar Vijay Deverakonda may also appear in Suriya46, which would increase the excitement surrounding the movie.

Deverakonda was the special guest at the Retro event in Hyderabad, and although his appearance attracted attention at first, it seems that it might have been connected to this possible partnership. Although an official confirmation from the actor or the production team is still pending, Sun News reports that the Arjun Reddy star has been approached to play a significant role in the upcoming project.

The film is being produced by Sithara Entertainment in association with Fortune Four Cinemas. In a brief video released by the producers, Suriya addressed fans directly, stating, “This will be my next film. As you’ve all been asking for a long time, my next Tamil film is with Venky, and I will be spending a lot of time in beautiful Hyderabad. We will start the shoot from May onwards.” He also expressed gratitude to producer Allu Arvind for his support and conveyed enthusiasm about collaborating with Atluri.

Suriya is moving forward with new projects even though Retro, which was released on May 1st, was met with a lacklustre reception. He is currently working with director RJ Balaji on Suriya45, which will bring him and actress Trisha Krishnan back together after almost two decades apart. According to reports, the pair, who last starred together in Aaru (2005), are portraying solicitors in the movie.

In the meantime, Vijay Deverakonda is getting ready for the July 4, 2025, theatrical release of his next movie, Kingdom. Bhagyashree Borse and Satyadev play significant roles in the movie as well.
