TV actress Krishna Mukherjee, known for her role in the show 'Yeh Hai Mohabbatein', has recently accused Kundan Singh, the producer of her latest TV show 'Shubh Shagun', of harassment and intimidation. This serious allegation came to light on April 26 when Mukherjee took to her Instagram to express her distress, calling her involvement in 'Shubh Shagun' the worst decision of her life. She claimed that her decision has led to depression and anxiety because of multiple instances of harassment by the production house and the producer.
In her Instagram post, Krishna Mukherjee detailed that the harassment included not being paid for five months and an incident where she was locked in her makeup room when she was unwell and refused to shoot due to unpaid dues. She described a frightening situation, saying, "They were banging my makeup room's door as if they will break it when I was changing my clothes." Mukherjee expressed her fear and helplessness in the post, mentioning that despite seeking help from many, she felt unsafe and justice was out of reach.
In response, Kundan Singh, the accused producer, swiftly denied all allegations. He countered Mukherjee's claims by labeling them as rumors and suggested that they were motivated by personal grudges and financial disputes. Singh's statement on social media warned the public against believing what he called lies. He shared that Mukherjee had previously made similar allegations against two other staff members, which were later deemed to be false. Singh asserted that he had supported her at the time, even going so far as to fire the accused employees, only to find out later that the claims were unfounded.
Singh also mentioned legal steps, stating that he would take strict legal action against these accusations. He argued that it was easy for people to make false accusations and emphasized the harm such actions could cause to reputations. He stressed the importance of not misusing social media platforms for spreading false allegations.
In her defence, Krishna Mukherjee had stated in her post that her family was fearful about the repercussions of her going public with these allegations, but she felt it was necessary to seek justice. She explained her anxiety and depression as direct results of her experiences during the show, highlighting the personal impact of the alleged harassment.
This ongoing issue underscores the challenges individuals face when coming forward with such allegations, particularly in industries where public and personal reputations are closely intertwined. The outcome of this situation remains uncertain as both parties stand firm in their positions.
