Several politicians including AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi, BJP MLA Ram Kadam and others condemned the attack on Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan and wished him speedy recovery.
Saif Ali Khan was stabbed 6 times with a sharp object when he confronted an intruder at his Bandra (West) residence early on January 16, 2025. The incident occurred around 3:30 am when the robber broke into the house while the family was asleep. Saif was immediately rushed to Lilavati Hospital where is currently undergoing treatment. He has suffered two deep cuts, with one being located near his spine.
AAP chief and former Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal took to X to react to the incident. “Shocked to hear about the attack on Saif Ali Khan. Wishing him a speedy recovery and strength to his family during this difficult time,” he wrote.
Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi questioned Mumbai Police and Maharashtra Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis for the breach of security. “What a shame that Mumbai sees another high profile attempt on life, the attack on Saif Ali Khan yet again raises questions on Mumbai Police & the Home Minister,” she wrote.
Priyanka listed few of the recent high profile security breaches in Mumbai.
“Baba Siddique ji’s family is still awaiting justice after his shocking murder, Salman Khan forced to live in a bullet proof house, Now it is Saif Ali Khan. All in Bandra. An area which has the highest concentration of celebrities, which is supposed to have adequate security. If celebrities are not safe then who in Mumbai is?” she wrote in a post on X, while wishing Saif a speedy recovery.
Congress MP Varsha Eknath Gaikwad said, “Extremely shocked at this brazen attack. What is going on in Mumbai? That this happens in Bandra in a what is known as a safe neighbourhood, is what is most concerning. What security can the common man then expect?”
