Pankaj Dheer’s Prayer Meet to be held on Friday at Mumbai’s ISKCON Temple, Juhu

Veteran actor Pankaj Dheer, who passed away on October 15, 2025, after a prolonged battle with cancer, will be remembered at a prayer meet in Mumbai this Friday, October 17. The memorial service will take place from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Mandapam Hall, ISKCON Temple, Juhu.
The invitation, shared by the Dheer, Shah, Sengar, and Khanna families, reads: “We gather to remember Shri Pankaj Dheer, celebrating the life of a remarkable soul whose love, laughter, and wisdom continue to guide us.” The note beautifully captures the late actor’s warmth and the affection he inspired among family, friends, and admirers.

Pankaj Dheer, 68, was best known for his unforgettable portrayal of Karna in B.R. Chopra’s Mahabharat, a performance that became a part of Indian television history. His noble demeanor and commanding presence made his version of Karna the definitive one for generations of viewers. Over the years, he went on to appear in several popular television serials and films, establishing himself as one of the most respected figures in the entertainment industry.

Dheer’s colleagues remember him as a disciplined performer and a compassionate mentor. Beyond acting, he contributed to the industry as a teacher and creative guide, running an academy that trained several aspiring actors. Friends recall that he remained positive and spiritually strong even through his illness, facing every challenge with quiet courage.

The Cine & TV Artistes’ Association (CINTAA) had earlier confirmed his passing with a statement honoring his service as the association’s former General Secretary and Chairman of its trust.
