Actor Taapsee Pannu starrer Thappad has recently completed 5 years and she paid tribute to the film. Thappad was released in 2020 and received positive reviews for its storyline and performances, particularly for tackling the issue of domestic violence.
However, Taapsee recently took to her Instagram and shared a picture with director Anubhav Sinha. Additionally, the actress also delighted her fans who have been eagerly waiting for her next project.
In the caption of her Instagram post, Taapsee wrote, "Some associations mark the start of conversations.” She added, “5 years have passed, and the impact of this slap is still as clear as the sound of applause. And now????” The actor teased, “Sirji What next?! #Thappad #5years #WhatNext.”
However, director Anubhav took to the comment section of the post and doubled down on the speculation of the new project. He commented, “What's next???? Don't you read the newspapers?” Besides Thappad, Taapsee collaborated with director Anubhav for another hit film Mulk. However, the actress’ latest post has fueled speculations that there could be another collaboration with the director.
Thappad remained in cinemas for two weeks, collecting Rs 33 crore before the lockdown was announced, maintaining its steady growth from first week to the second. The film grossed a total of Rs 36.44 crore in India and Rs 8.10 crore overseas. The total worldwide collection of the film was Rs 44.54 crore.

Taapsee Pannu was last seen in the films including Dunki, Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba, and Khel Khel Mein. She will next star in Woh Ladki Hai Kahan alongside Pratik Gandhi and Prateik Patil Babbar. The film revolves around an investigative comedy where a lady cop and a groom start looking for the bride.
