Actor Sonakshi Sinha walked for the first time after her wedding with Zaheer Iqbal as a showstopper for designer Dolly J at India Couture Week in Delhi on Saturday.
Sonakshi dazzled in a shimmery blush pink gown adorned with embellishments and featuring a high slit. She paired the stunning outfit with a cape and heels. Captivating the audience, Sonakshi grooved to "Lovefool" by The Cardigans, performed live by a singer on the ramp.
Post the event, Sonakshi also talked to the media about her wedding. She said, as quoted by news agency ANI, "I genuinely feel the simpler bride is going to be back. I honestly had the freedom to enjoy my wedding so much because I was so comfortable. And I was able to breathe and move around. And I didn't stress myself out. So I think a simpler but beautiful bride, that's going to be a forthcoming trend for sure."
Talking about choosing the outfit for her marriage, she said, "It took five minutes for both of us to choose outfits. I was very clear in my head that I wanted to wear a red saree. And I was very clear in my head that for my actual signing and the wedding, I wanted to wear my mother's saree and her jewellery, which is exactly what I did. So it was all in my head. And we just brought it to life on that day. We're very not so fussy people."
Sonakshi and Zaheer tied the knot on June 23 in an intimate ceremony at their Mumbai residence, surrounded by close family and friends. Following the civil wedding, they hosted a celebration at Bastian, attended by numerous Bollywood celebrities.
Notable guests included Saira Banu, Rekha, Salman Khan, Vidya Balan, and Siddharth Roy Kapur, among others. Sonakshi and Zaheer had been together for seven years before getting married.
Sonakshi's most recent appearance was in the horror-comedy film Kakuda, directed by Aditya Sarpotdar. The movie, which also features Riteish Deshmukh and Saqib Saleem, premiered on ZEE5 on July 12.
