Jatadhara is running in the theatres

Sonakshi Sinha and Sudheer Babu starrer highly anticipated supernatural thriller Jatadhara officially released in the theatres this Friday. The movie attempts to combine contemporary horror with Indian mythology. The film had a lacklustre start at the box office, even though critics praised it for its ambitious visuals.

According to a trade website, Jatadhara collected an estimated Rs 0.95 crore net in India on day 1, November 7.

The film explores the delicate balance between science, faith, and mysticism against the heavenly setting of the Anantha Padmanabha Swamy Temple.

Especially in comparison to other recent films in the same genre, this opening is much lower than anticipated. A similar movie, like Thamma, for instance, opened with a significantly higher sum of Rs 18.8 crore net in India.

The movie is anticipated to gain momentum over the weekend despite its slower start, considering the positive reviews.
