Shefali Jariwala last night remembered by friend

Actor‑model Shefali Jariwala, aged just 42, passed away suddenly on the evening of June 27, leaving the television fraternity and fans in deep shock. Her close friend, Pooja Ghai, shared heartfelt memories with journalist Vickey Lalwani, recalling the events as her husband Parag Tyagi described them.

According to Pooja, a serene atmosphere enveloped their home that night, “But what I have understood from family, from Parag is that there was a beautiful Satyanarayan ki puja. In fact, the next day when we were allowed to enter home to bring Shefali for the last rites, I realised that the whole house was decorated for puja. So there was Satyanarayan ki puja at home and they did a beautiful puja setup at home.”

The house was lovingly adorned for the religious ceremony, setting a poignant backdrop to the evening.

Pooja went on to recount that Shefali had a normal dinner and asked Parag to take their elderly dog for its walk. “And the moment he went down, apparently he was called. The helper at home called him and said, ‘Didi is not feeling well.’ So, she told him, ‘Could you just come up, take care of me?’ The dog is really old. And he told the helper, ‘I’ve just come down for a walk, so why don’t you come down, take him for a walk and I’ll come up.’”

What happened next shocked everyone. “He was waiting down the lift, the helper came down, he handed over the dog and when he went up, Parag said that she still had the pulse. And her eyes were not opening and she just had dead weight to her body. So he immediately must have realised that something’s definitely wrong. And he took her to the hospital… before she was brought in at Bellevue, she was already no more.”

Shefali shot to fame after her appearance in the chart‑topping music video Kaanta Laga and later gained wider recognition through her stint on Bigg Boss 13. Bellevue Multispeciality Hospital officials confirmed that she was declared “brought dead” upon arrival, around 11:15 pm on June 27.

This tragic turn of events shook those who knew her best, leaving behind memories of a loving family, a devoted husband, and a cherished friend. The television world mourns the loss of a vibrant personality taken too soon.
