Actress and reality TV personality Shefali Jariwala, best remembered as the iconic “Kaanta Laga” girl, passed away late on June 27, 2025, following a sudden cardiac arrest in Mumbai. She was rushed to Bellevue Multispecialty Hospital but was declared dead on arrival. Shefali, 42, had previously battled epilepsy during her teenage years but had remained seizure-free for over two decades. Her untimely demise has left the entertainment world and her fans in deep mourning, with an outpouring of tributes flooding social media.

Amid the wave of grief, a video of Shefali dancing with cricketer Prithvi Shaw has resurfaced and gone viral, stirring powerful emotions among fans. The clip, taken from Shaw’s 25th birthday celebration on November 9, 2024, shows Shefali joyfully dancing alongside Shaw, her husband Parag Tyagi, and close friends.

The carefree energy of the video, now circulating widely on platforms like Instagram and YouTube Shorts, offers a final glimpse into Shefali’s radiant and spirited persona.

The emotional weight of the video is heightened by the fact that Shaw himself has recently faced major career setbacks. Having been dropped from the Indian cricket team, omitted from Team Mumbai’s Ranji Trophy 2024–25 squad, and going unsold in the IPL 2025 auction, Shaw’s presence in the video draws a symbolic parallel of personal challenges faced by public figures.

Adding a haunting layer to Shefali’s story, a podcast episode from 2024 has also resurfaced. In the "Abraa ka Dabra Show," hosted by Bigg Boss 13 co-contestant Paras Chhabra, Shefali’s horoscope was analyzed, pointing to troubling planetary alignments. Specifically, the combination of Moon and Ketu in the 8th house—often linked with sudden health issues and mental distress—was discussed. Paras warned of neurological issues and urged Shefali to seek spiritual peace through temple visits and pilgrimages.

Following Shefali’s cremation on June 28 at Oshiwara Crematorium, her grieving husband Parag Tyagi made an emotional appeal to the public. With folded hands, he asked for privacy and prayers. “Please don’t make this a mockery. I request everyone to pray for my angel. May she find peace wherever she is,” he said, holding back tears.

The heartbreaking farewell triggered a wave of solidarity from fans and celebrities alike. Cricketer Shikhar Dhawan offered his condolences on social media, writing, “Bahut jaldi alvida keh gayi… Bhagwan unki aatma ko shanti de.”

Shefali Jariwala’s final Instagram posts from the Melbourne Cricket Ground earlier this month had left fans curious about her travels and future projects. Active and full of life until the end, her sudden departure has opened important conversations on women’s heart health, mental well-being, and the mystical pull of astrology in today’s world.
