The latest episode of Shark Tank India 4 featured three compelling pitches, but one that truly stood out was Fitelo—a health and wellness app designed to support users in their weight loss journeys. Founders Mehakdeep Singh and Sahil Bansal confidently presented their vision, seeking an investment of ₹1.5 crore for 0.5% equity in their company.

Fitelo differentiates itself from conventional fitness apps by offering a holistic approach that combines personalized meal plans, fitness regimens, and lifestyle coaching. The app tailors recommendations to individual preferences, whether it’s gym workouts, home exercises, or even dance-based fitness like Bhangra.

During the pitch, Anupam Mittal inquired about the company’s financial performance. The founders revealed that Fitelo is generating revenues of ₹110-120 crore annually, catching the sharks' attention. However, they admitted that they are still working toward making it a fully profitable venture, refining their business model for long-term sustainability.

As the discussion shifted to fitness and weight management, Kunal Bahl shared a personal anecdote about his childhood struggles with body weight. He recounted being bullied and constantly addressed as “Mota” instead of his actual name. His story struck a chord with the panel, leading to an emotional conversation about the lasting impact of body shaming.

Namita Thapar then opened up about her own painful experiences with body shaming during her school years. She revealed that she was often called “Moti” instead of her real name, which severely impacted her self-esteem and led to emotional eating habits she battled for years.

Recognizing Fitelo’s potential for both business success and social impact, Vinita Singh and Namita Thapar decided to invest. They offered ₹1.5 crore for 1% equity, along with 1% royalty until the investment amount was recovered.

The episode not only showcased an innovative startup but also sparked a powerful discussion on self-worth and resilience, highlighting how personal experiences can shape one’s approach to health and wellness.
