Pushpa 2: The Rule, starring Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, and Fahadh Faasil, has had a blockbuster opening at the box office, with early morning shows driving massive numbers. The film is expected to cross Rs 60 crore on its first day as per latest trends.
By Thursday at 3 PM, the top three national chains, PVRInox and Cinepolis, had grossed Rs 21 crore and are expected to reach a total of Rs 26.50 to 28.50 crore (NBOC: Rs 23.25 crore), as reported by Pinkvilla. The response from walk-in audiences during the morning and noon shows has been extraordinary, with no film receiving such a massive turnout in tier 2 and tier 3 cities for a long time.
For Hindi 2D screenings, the audience occupancy was notable, with morning shows filling 41.12% of the seats, while afternoon shows saw a higher turnout, with 50.94% occupancy.
Meanwhile, the Hindi (IMAX 2D) occupancy in theaters has been impressive so far, with 52.57% for the morning shows and 53.86% for the afternoon shows. The early response indicates strong interest, and there's anticipation about even higher turnout during the evening and night shows.
The film is surpassing Jawan, which earned Rs 55.75 crore on the first day, in nearly all circuits, except for the South, where the Hindi version of Pushpa 2 has limited screenings.
The growing excitement for the film's screenings promises an even bigger rush, especially as the day progresses. Fans are clearly eager to experience the film in IMAX, and the evening and night shows are expected to bring in even more viewers, making it an exciting time for both the audience and the film industry.
