Veteran theatre artist and comedian Raju Talikote passed away on Monday, October 13, after suffering a heart attack. He was 62.
According to PTI, a source close to his family confirmed the news about his death. He was reportedly admitted to a private hospital in Manipal, Udupi district.
The veteran actor was in Udupi for a film shoot when he suffered a heart attack on Sunday night. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he took his last breath the following evening.
Raju Talikote’s last is scheduled to be held on Tuesday at his native Chikka Sindagi in Sindagi taluk, Vijayapura district.
Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar expressed grief and mourned the death of the veteran comedian. He tweeted, “The passing away of Raju Talikote, who had acted in several Kannada films and gained popularity, is a loss to the Kannada film industry.”
Who was Raju Talikote?
Raju Talikote was known for his comic roles in north Karnataka’s theatre and films. He had starred in productions such as 'Kaliyugada Kuduka'.
Raju Talikote's transition from theatre to film brought him great fame and a sizable fan base. Despite his fame, many were unaware of his personal life, as he was married to two women named Prema. He frequently referred to them as his support and strength.

He shared five kids with his two wives. He had a close-knit family, and they all participated in theatre together.
Raju Talikote’s son has previously revealed that his father's play, Kaliyugada Kuduka, brought immense fame to his father.
