Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra, starring Kalyani Priyadarshan, recently created history by becoming the first Malayalam film to reach the Rs 300 crore mark at the worldwide box office.
Kalyani has recently celebrated the milestone of Dominic Arun's superhero film’s box office success. The actress took to her Instagram Story and penned a special note as it surpassed the Rs 300 crore milestone.
She admitted that she is "beyond grateful” and expressed gratitude towards her team and the moviegoers.
The actress shared a poster of the film, which featured ‘300 crore GBOC’ in bold text. Alongside the poster, the actress penned in the caption, “Everyone who stood behind, beside and in front of the camera, and everyone who filled the theatres… We made history. Beyond grateful."
About Lokah Chapter 1
For the unversed, Lokah Chapter 1, a Malayalam-language superhero movie, also stars Naslen, Sandy Master, Arun Kurian and Chandu Salim Kumar in the key roles.
Directed by Dominic Arun and produced by Dulquer Salmaan under his banner Wayfarer Films, the film follows Chandra, played by Kalyani, a mysterious woman who arrives in Bangalore, India and gets entangled with a gang involved in organ trafficking.

Kalyani was released in the theatres on August 28 during the festive Onam season and received positive reviews from the critics and the audience. The
Prithviraj Sukumaran's L2: Empuraan (Rs 265.5 crore), Soubin Shahir and Sreenath Bhasi's Manjummel Boys (Rs 240 crore), and Mohanlal and Prakash Varma's Thudarum (Rs 234.5 crore) were all defeated by Lokah, as it became the first Malayalam film to reach the Rs 300 crore milestone.
Following the worldwide success of the first instalment, the makers have announced Lokah Chapter 2.
