Kalyani Priyadarshan and Naslen starrer Malayalam film Lokah: Chapter 1- Chandra has been shattering records at the box office ever since its release on August 28, 2025.
According to the latest reports, the film has now become the highest-grossing movie of all time in Kerala. Even before this, Lokah had already secured the position of the highest-grossing Malayalam film in India and worldwide.
Lokah has also achieved a remarkable milestone by becoming the highest-grossing female-led film from South India and is now the second highest-grossing female-led film in the entire country.
Worldwide, it has collected nearly Rs 298 crore, with Rs 178.50 crore coming from India alone, and it is on track to become the first Malayalam film to cross the Rs 300 crore mark.
In its sixth weekend, the Kalyani Priyadarshan-led superhero film earned Rs 1.80 crore, pushing its total collection to approximately Rs 119 crore in Kerala alone. This surpasses Mohanlal’s biggest hit Thudarum, which had earned Rs 118.6 crore, while the total across all languages stands at around Rs 122 crore.
Directed by Dominic Arun and produced by Dulquer Salmaan, a key factor contributing to the film’s success has been its extended theatrical run. The makers have not yet announced the release date for the digital version.
Lokah: Chapter 1 – Chandra is part of a planned five-part cinematic universe. The second installment has already been announced and will star Tovino Thomas in the lead, with Dulquer making a cameo, and will once again be directed by Dominic Arun.
The third film will feature Dulquer in the lead role, the fourth will have Mammootty as the central character, and the fifth and final part will bring all the characters together for an epic conclusion.
