Actress Rashmika Mandanna has finally spoken out against the claims that she has been banned from the Kannada film business. She is busy right now promoting her new movie, Thamma. The movie, which also stars Ayushmann Khurrana, will be out on Diwali on October 21, 2025.
Rashmika talks about the reports of a "ban"
As per a report published in Pinkvilla, Rashmika was asked in a recent interview with the news about Kannada cinema if she had talked about how she felt about watching Rishab Shetty's Kantara: Chapter 1 with the team. The actress said she had just seen the movie and even texted the team about it. "I saw it recently and texted the team, but I didn't see it for the first two to three days after it came out." She grinned and remarked, "They even said thank you."
The actress stated, "See, the world doesn't know what's going on inside," referring to the supposed fight with the Kannada business. We can't film our private lives. We don't put every chat or message we have on the internet. So, what people say about our private life doesn't matter. We will listen to and improve their feedback about our work as professionals.
Rashmika coolly answered, "So far, I haven't been banned," when asked directly if she had been barred. Yes, so...—her weak smile ending months of guessing.
About reports of engagement and personal life
Rashmika has also been in the news because some think she is engaged to her long-time beau and co-star, actor Vijay Deverakonda. People close to Vijay's team say that the couple recently got engaged and are expected to get married in February 2026, even though they haven't officially confirmed this yet.

Rashmika's plans for the future
Rashmika's next movie is Thamma, a romantic horror comedy by Aditya Sarpotdar. The movie is the fifth in the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe (MHCU).
Along with Rashmika and Ayushmann, the movie also stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Paresh Rawal, Sathyaraj, and Faisal Malik. Varun Dhawan, Nora Fatehi, and Malaika Arora all make short appearances.
Rashmika is determined to let her art speak louder than rumours in both her personal and professional lives as Thamma gets ready for a big release.
