Netflix’s Adolescence created a buzz among the audience when it first hit the streaming giant. The series received positive reviews from critics, with several fans and celebrities showering praise on the show’s plot and storyline.
However, after the massive worldwide success, Brad Pitt’s production company, Plan B Entertainment, has now confirmed that Adolescence Season 2 is currently in early talks.
During a recent interview with Deadline, Plan B co-presidents Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner revealed that they’re in talks with director Philip Barantini about the “next iteration” of the series.
Dede Gardner also noted that they're considering ways to expand the series, stay true to its core, and avoid repetition. However, she also insisted that she didn't want to reveal too much about their plan.
Jeremy Kleiner expressed hope that series co-creater Stephen Graham and writer Jack Thorne would team up again for the project. The original season was produced by Warp Films and Matriarch Productions.
The latest update came after the series broke all the streaming records on Netflix. Adolescence has recently bagged the fourth place in Netflix’s Most Popular English-Language TV list after garnering a whopping 114.5 million views since its March 13 release.
For the unversed, Adolescence follows a 13-year-old boy who is accused of fatally stabbing a female classmate after becoming entangled in the online manosphere.
The series features an ensemble cast including Owen Cooper, Stephen Graham, Erin Doherty, Ashley Walters and Faye Marsay in pivotal roles.
