Im Yoon-Ah, better known as Yoona of Girls’ Generation, has once again cemented her place as one of South Korea’s biggest global stars. Her latest drama Bon Appétit, Your Majesty, co-starring rising actor Lee Chae-Min, has officially become the No. 1 Non-English TV Show worldwide on Netflix, according to the platform’s Global Top 10 data.
This achievement makes Yoona the only Korean actor to top the global Non-English chart on Netflix twice with two different projects, neither of which are original Netflix productions. Her previous drama King The Land, alongside Lee Jun-Ho, had also held the No. 1 position, proving her ability to headline international hits consistently.
Bon Appétit, Your Majesty pulled in 6.8 million views this week, outperforming titles like The Dead Girls, Two Graves, and The Fragrant Flower Blooms With Dignity. Impressively, two other South Korean dramas, Beyond The Bar and Queen Mantis, ranked in the Top 10, at 4th and 6th place respectively, underscoring K-drama’s enduring dominance on Netflix.

The historical-fantasy romance has shown remarkable staying power. Since premiering on August 23, it has remained in the Top 10 globally for four consecutive weeks. Days before the latest ranking update, it had already been crowned the No. 1 show across 44 countries, after debuting at No. 4 on the global chart and climbing to No. 2 in just its second week.
The drama follows Yeon Ji-Young (Yoona), a French-trained chef mysteriously transported back in time to the Joseon era, where she finds herself serving as royal chef to the fearsome King Yi-Heon (Lee Chae-Min). The King is known as both a tyrant and an exceptional gourmet, making Ji-Young’s survival dependent on her culinary skills. The series cleverly blends modern culinary techniques with Joseon traditions, offering both romance and palace intrigue.
Much of the buzz surrounding the show stems from the chemistry between Yoona and Lee Chae-Min. While Yoona’s star power ensured a strong opening, Lee has emerged as a breakout performer of the year, praised for his nuanced portrayal of the conflicted monarch. Together, their dynamic has made Bon Appétit, Your Majesty not only a global chart-topper but also one of the most talked-about K-dramas of 2025.
