Zubeen Garg, known as the ‘King of Humming’, died in a scuba diving accident on Friday, leaving a lasting legacy behind. The late singer has a huge fan base all across Assam and India. Before his funeral on Sunday, a huge flock of fans gathered outside Zubeen Garg's home.
Several videos from the late singer’s house are going viral on social media. Several fans were seen on the roads in Guwahati, Assam. Additionally, security guards were stationed outside Zubeen Garg's home.
His wife, Garima Saikia, received the late singer's casket when it arrived in Guwahati early on Sunday. She looked devastated and was spotted sobbing when she received Zubeen Garg’s mortal remains.
Hundreds of people gathered around the car as it travelled to deliver singer Zubeen Garg's mortal remains to his home. In honour of the singer, a number of Guwahati fans lit candles.
According to the Assam government, fans and well-wishers will be able to pay their final respects to Zubeen's mortal remains on Sunday, September 21, from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM at the Arjun Bhogeswar Baruah Sports Complex in Sarusajai, Guwahati.
Zubeen Garg's casket was transported to Guwahati from Delhi on a regular flight because it could not fit in any chartered flight, according to Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, who travelled to Delhi to receive the singer's remains.
Hundreds of people had gathered outside the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport to receive the mortal remains of Zubeen Garg. Additionally, a fight broke out among the crowd, and the police used a light lathi charge to break it up on Saturday.
The latter singer's body was to be kept at his residence for around one and a half hours for the family members to pay their last respects. The body will be later shifted to Arjun Bhogeswar Baruah Sports Complex for people to pay their homage between 9 am and 7 pm.
