Union Minister of External Affairs, Pabitra Margherita, senior officials of the Government of Assam and the Government of India and admirers also paid floral tribute to the late singer.

The Chief Minister joined admirers in singing the well-known song ‘Mayabini’ before the coffin was raised. Zubeen Garg’s mortal remains were transported from Singapore to Guwahati via a specially chartered flight.

CM Himanta Biswa Sarma revealed that the late singer's mortal remains would be transported directly from the Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport to the singer's home in Kahilipara.
