Singer and former Bigg Boss OTT contestant Neha Bhasin has stirred a controversy by accusing blogger and designer Nancy Tyagi of portraying her Cannes 2025 dress as self-stitched.
Neha took to Instagram to highlight the striking resemblance between a corset worn by Nancy on the Cannes red carpet recenrly and one Neha had worn months ago.
“This corset looks too familiar hmmmm. Just wondering,” she wrote. In the next slide she mentioned: “Same same,” along with a photo of herself in the same outfit.
The issue worsened when it was realised that Nancy had not hand-stitched the dress, as her Instagram description implied.
Instead, Surbhi Gupta, the founder of The Source Bombay, a boutique store in Bandra, told The Free Press Journal that Nancy had purchased the corset dress for Rs 25,000 before Cannes.
Surbhi Gupta explained that, while Nancy may have added a cape to modify the ensemble, the primary item was definitely from their boutique.

“There was no barter or collaboration. She bought it, so of course she can wear it how she wants — but it’s our design,” she said.
Nancy Tyagi, who has made a name for herself by crafting and wearing DIY couture, tweeted a poignant message about her Cannes dress, dedicating the hue to her mother and revealing that it took her a month to complete.
Her transformation videos and reputation for sewing her own outfits have made her extremely popular, particularly among younger viewers who respect her hustle and honesty.
However, this claim has put Nancy's story into question.
The fact that Neha Bhasin had previously worn an identical corset in December 2024 has piqued popular interest.
Some fans and followers are skeptical of the influencer's claims, while others have backed Nancy's freedom to remix and restyle purchased ensembles.
