On Monday, October 28, actor Sobhita Dhulipala joined her fiancé, Naga Chaitanya, and his family to celebrate the 100th birth anniversary of Telugu cinema icon Akkineni Nageswara Rao (ANR), who was the father of Telugu superstar Nagarjuna.
The family commemorated the event by presenting the ANR National Award, established by the Akkineni International Foundation, to actor Chiranjeevi.
In a video circulating online, when Chiranjeevi was interacting with other guests on stage, Nagarjuna calls Sobhita and Naga over. He then introduces his future daughter-in-law to Chiranjeevi.
Sobhita greets Chiranjeevi with a folded-hands gesture and then engages in a delightful conversation with the megastar.
This event marks the first public appearance of the couple together following their engagement on August 8.
For the occasion, Sobhita Dhulipala wore a stunning green saree that beautifully complemented Naga Chaitanya, who looked dashing in a navy blue bandh gala.
The couple, who had been in the spotlight for their rumored relationship over the past year, officially confirmed their romance in August by sharing charming moments from their intimate engagement ceremony at Naga Chaitanya's home in Hyderabad.
The event also featured actor Amitabh Bachchan, who presented the ANR National Award to Chiranjeevi. In a gesture of respect, Chiranjeevi folded his hands and touched Big B’s feet while receiving the award. Additionally, one video captured Amitabh Bachcnan, at 82 years old, showing his respect by touching the feet of Chiranjeevi's mother, Anjana Devi.
Taking to Instagram, Amitabh Bachchan also shared a post from the event. His post read, "My great privilege to honour Megastar Chiranjeevi garu with AKKINENI NAGESHWAR RAO award .. celebrating 100th birth Anniversary of The Colossus of Indian and Telugu Cinema Shri ANR. And thank you Nagarjun 'Nag' for making me a part of this historic moment"
Reports suggest that Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita may get married in the first week of December. However, an official announcement about the wedding date and venue has not been made yet. Recently, the festivities began with the bride-to-be performing her Pasupu Danchadam ceremony, which is a traditional Telugu pre-wedding ceremony that marks the beginning of wedding festivities.
