Punjabi rapper and global icon Diljit Dosanjh is known to break barriers and making history with his innovative and nonconforming music. The musician transcended territorial boundaries once again by having his hit song “Naina" play in a big fashion outlet in Primark Oxford street in London.
A fan posted a video of her shopping in the outlet where the song was playing. In the video you can hear the song being played loudly and the fan’s excitement was visible through the video.
The fan was heard saying, “Oh my god. Diljit is everywhere. London ke store mai Diljit ke gaane chal rahe hain. Wow (Diljit’s songs are playing in a store in London).”
The fan then started humming along to the song excitedly.
“Shopping choddho mai toh gaana hi sunkar khush hogayi thi zyada (Forget shopping, I am happy hearing the song itself),” she continued before singing the song aloud again.
The hit song ‘Naina’ was sung by Dosanjh for the Bollywood movie “Crew” which stars Kareena Kapoor Khan, Tabu and Kriti Sanon. For the melodious song, Dosanjh teamed up with iconic Indian rapper Badshah.
Written by Raj Ranjodh with Badshah and also composed by Ranjodh, Dosanjh’s silky voice made the song become a mega hit.
Netizens quickly responded to the video and showcased their pride and happiness on hearing an Indian song being played in London. Many also criticized Indian malls and shopping outlets who play western music 24/7 instead of playing Indian music to give them more popularity and reach.
In the first week of May, when the song debuted, it charted on the 10th position on the Billboard India charts. Since then, it stands steady on the 14th position.
The groovy song was also recently seen being enjoyed by Bollywood superstar Anil Kapoor with the popular Norwegian dance group, Quick Style.
