Bollywood star Aamir Khan is set to revive the hit song 'Papa Kehte Hain' from his breakthrough film 'Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak,' which won hearts back in the late '80s, particularly among the youth.

This iconic track is making a comeback in a new avatar titled 'Papa Kehte Hain 2.0,' which will be featured in the upcoming film 'Srikanth' starring Rajkumar Rao. Aamir Khan himself will launch the refreshed version of the song on Monday, 22 April.

The trailer for 'Srikanth,' which has already been released, hints at the inclusion of this song, stirring excitement and nostalgia among fans. The film, directed by Tushar Hiranandani, stars Rajkumar Rao in a leading role and is a biopic. The anticipation for the song's release is high, and it's already a topic of considerable chatter in the digital realm.

Aamir Khan, who debuted in Bollywood with the original 'Papa Kehte Hain,' is personally involved in the song's reintroduction. The idea to recreate the song was proposed by Bhushan Kumar, and Khan was pleased with the notion, especially since the song would align well with the narrative of Srikanth Bolla, the film's protagonist. Khan is excited to be part of the song's launch, given his deep personal connection with the original track.

The song will be showcased at a grand event in Mumbai, performed live by a band of visually impaired musicians. Aamir Khan, Rajkumar Rao, Alaya F, and Tushar Hiranandani, along with Srikanth Bolla himself, will be present. The biopic on Srikanth Bolla is scheduled for release on 10 May 2024, and there's considerable buzz about the film, especially after the impactful first look of Rajkummar Rao captured the public’s imagination.

This revival of 'Papa Kehte Hain' in a modern style not only celebrates the legacy of a beloved song but also connects it with a new generation of cinema-goers who will see it performed in a contemporary film.

Aamir Khan’s involvement in the project adds a layer of authenticity and excitement, bridging his illustrious past with the present. The event promises to be a memorable one, marking the return of a song that has been a favourite for decades in a new, vibrant form.
