With World Photography Day around the corner, actress Mrunal Thakur has chosen to share a more personal side of herself by unveiling a series of candid clicks from her own camera. Calling it “a piece of her heart,” the Sita Ramam starlet’s latest post reflects her deepening bond with photography—an art she has been nurturing with quiet passion.

The photos capture moments that are both simple and profound. From the striking image of a shadow cast on the sand to the endless beauty of the sea, Mrunal’s lens turns everyday sights into evocative frames. Her collection also features a calming still of a church and an atmospheric shot of a bartender mid-action—each picture reflecting her eye for detail and mood.

In her note, Mrunal confessed her long-held fascination with the medium. “I have always believed that ‘a picture is worth a thousand words’… and ever since I started taking my love for photography more seriously, I feel it even more,” she wrote. She admitted that photography has always been one of her “favourite things,” driven by her curiosity and urge to explore.

The actress revealed that she truly committed to the craft last year, when she invested in her first Leica camera. “It was part joy and part terror,” she recalled. “I was so excited to start clicking pictures and also terrified that I would be terrible at it. But I decided to take the leap and at least try…”

For Mrunal, the beauty of photography lies not just in the results but in the journey itself. “The process, the pause, and the patience,” she explained, are what make the practice so fulfilling. Her decision to share the images, she admitted, came only after battling self-doubt and overthinking, but she embraced the imperfections as part of the art form.

On the work front, Mrunal is gearing up for her next big release, Dacoit, opposite Adivi Sesh. Directed by Shaneil Deo and featuring Anurag Kashyap in a pivotal role, the film is slated for release on December 25.

With her candid clicks, Mrunal proves that her creativity extends far beyond the silver screen.
