Yodha has performed well throughout the week at the box office and managed to garner Rs 2.1 crore on the sixth day (Wednesday).

Sidharth Malhotra's film records lowest single day earning, mints Rs 1.85 crore. According to early estimates by Sacnilk, Yodha, backed by Dharma Productions, earned Rs 1.85 crore at the box office on day seven. The total collection of the film now stands at Rs 25.20 crore. Despite a good weekend run, Yodha couldn't pass the Monday test.

In the last few years, Sidharth Malhotra has proven himself as a capable action star, mostly starring in projects to do with nationalism and patriotism. In 2021’s successful Shershah based on the life of Indian Army Officer Vikram Batra, Malhotra was critically-appreciated for playing the role of the real-life martyr. He followed it up with Mission Majnu in which he played a RAW field operative during the Indo-Pakistan war of 1971. It has just been three months into 2024 and we have seen the actor don the uniform in two projects – as a police officer in the web series Indian Police Force and as an army officer in the recently-released Yodha.

The 39-year-old actor who hails from Delhi revealed recently at the News18 Rising Bharat Summit 2024 that he is drawn towards real-life stories and stories of heroism. In fact, his own paternal grandfather was in the Indian Army. “As ordinary citizens, we don’t know how these soldiers are working 24x7 to keep us safe. It is important to show people their lives on screen so they can appreciate their bravery. I get excited when I read scripts such as Shershah or Mission Majnu because they are real as well as heroic,” he said.

Malhotra also mentioned the kind of hands-on training actors receive when they do these kinds of roles. “For movies such as Brothers and Yodha, we had international trainers who trained us like athletes,” he recalls. The actor was appreciative of the positive changes he has seen in the Bharat of today. “Earlier when we would go outside the country, we would be enamoured by what we saw. Now, we have so much to be proud of in India. We have every technology and facility here,” he said.

Speaking about his latest film Yodha, Malhotra mentioned that he saw that the training the commandos receive is on a par with any other military force of any country. “Yeh ek naya Bharat hai; furtila, sharp aur khoobsurat Bharat hai (this is a new India; energetic, sharp and beautiful India),” he added. Meanwhile, Yodha is in theatres and earned Rs 2.15 crore this weekend. It has brought in a net total of Rs 23.38 crore so far.

Yodha, produced under the banner of Dharma Productions, Mentor Disciple Entertainment, and Amazon MGM Studios, has performed well throughout the week at the box office and managed to garner Rs 2.1 crore on the sixth day (Wednesday). It has minted over Rs 23 crore net in India so far, Sacnilk reported. The movie was released in theatres on March 15 and features Sidharth Malhotra, Disha Patani, Ronit Roy, and Raashii Khanna, in key roles. The movie is jointly directed by Pushkar Ojha and Sagar Ambre.

As per Sacnilk, the movie is expected to collect around Rs 2 crore on the seventh day. The collection of Yodha significantly dropped after Sunday and since then it has earned around Rs 2 crore consistently, experiencing a slight dip every day.

The opening day collection of Yodha was quite good and the movie managed to collect Rs 4.1 crore, then the number surged on Saturday with an earning of Rs 5.75 crore. The earnings peaked on Sunday (Day 3) when it grossed Rs 7 crore, however, the movie observed a massive drop of 69.29 per cent on Monday and earned Rs 2.15 crore only.

The number went up slightly on Tuesday when it earned Rs 2.25 crore which dropped further on Wednesday collecting only Rs 2.1 crore. This downward trend is expected to continue in the coming days.
