The new horror comedy 'Munjya' starring Sharvari Wagh, Abhay Verma, and Mona Singh has been doing well at the box office. It had a good first weekend, and the movie collected Rs 4 crore on its first day of release (June 7).
And thanks to positive word of mouth, the film saw upward growth and collected over Rs 6.75 crore, and it collected an estimated Rs 7.75 crore net on Sunday.
According to the Sacknilk report, the movie has collected Rs 19.75 crore in the three days since its release.
The movie has had a good week, as there is no other movie until Kartik Aaryan's 'Chandu Champion' hits theatres on June 14.
'Munjya,' which has been directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, had an occupancy of 30.99 percent in the Hindi belts on Friday. And on Day 3, the movie's afternoon occupancy was 42.88%, and the evening shows saw an occupancy of 53.23 percent, which is really encouraging.
"Munjya clocks Rs 19+/- crores net collection in the opening weekend. On Sunday, the movie scored an estimated Rs 7.75 crore net. All eyes are on Monday," the Sacnilk team reported.
'Munjya', a horror comedy starring Sharvari and Abhay, also has Mona Singh in a pivotal role. It is the story of a mythical creature who wreaks havoc in the life of Bittu (Abhay).
'Munjya' has received good reviews, and a moneycontrol review said, "Who needs horror films in a war-torn, post-recession, and inflation-hit world where life itself feels like a horror movie? In comes 'Munjya' film that balances out its scares with some light hearted moments (much like life itself) and wins you over."
