The recent incident involving Kangana Ranaut and a CISF jawaan, Kulwinder Kaur, at the Chandigarh airport has garnered a lot of attention and mixed reactions. Netizens have been giving their varied opinions on Kangana Ranaut getting slapped by the CISF constable yet the Bollywood industry is mostly mum on the matter.
‘The Tashkent Files’ director Vivek Agnihotri who is known to not be afraid of voicing his own political views came to Kangana Ranaut’s defence.
The director tweeted, “This incident with @KanganaTeam must be condemned by every sane person. Why do I say 'sane'? Because only sane people understand how dangerous it is for a democracy. Those who are laughing at Kangana must know that many people don't like your tweets either. And you fly too.”
Uorfi Javed also spoke in support of Kangana Ranaut while mentioning that her political views differ from the 'Queen' actress.
On her Instagram story, Javed wrote, “Don't agree with Kangana Ranaut politically but I still feel it ain't right to physically assault someone when you disagree with them. Not cool. Violence is never the answer.”
The BJP MP had also issued a statement accusing the Bollywood industry of staying silent regarding the incident.
In a rant on her Instagram story, the actress wrote, "Dear film industry, you all are either celebrating or are totally mum on the airport attack on me. Remember if tomorrow, if you walking disarmingly on some street of your country or anywhere else in the world and some Israeli/Palestinian hits you or your children just because you tried to bring eyes to Rafah or stood up for Israeli hostage... then you will see I will be fighting for your rights of free speech.”
The CISF jawaan, who was allegedly unhappy with Kangana’s stance on the farmer protests, has been arrested on 7 June for slapping the actress at Chandigarh airport. A case has also been registered against Kaur.
