Darshan's fans conduct a special Pooja for actor's jail release, worship his film posters

Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa, who recently found himself in the midst of legal turmoil as an under-trial prisoner in the Renuka Swamy murder case, has received a heartwarming gesture of support from his fans. In a show of unwavering loyalty and faith, his fans conducted a special Pooja for his release at Veereshwara Punyaashrama in Gadag. Darshan’s photograph and film posters were placed by the fans and worshipped, with Pandit Puttaraj presiding over the rituals.

The fans, who performed the Pooja with deep reverence, expressed their wish for Darshan’s speedy release. They passionately argued that their beloved actor should be set free as soon as possible. Highlighting their devotion, they stated, “We are Darshan’s true fans. We believe in his innocence and want him to come out of this situation unscathed.” The sentiments were palpable as they prayed for both Darshan’s well-being and justice in the Renuka Swamy case, hoping for strength for the victim's family.

Darshan has reportedly been facing significant challenges while adjusting to life in Parappana Agrahara Jail. He has experienced health issues, including persistent diarrhea attributed to the poor quality of jail food, resulting in a notable weight loss of 10 kilograms. To cope with these adverse conditions, Darshan has turned to yoga, seeking solace and attempting to manage his deteriorating health. Reports indicate that he spends most of his time in solitude, distancing himself from other inmates, and occupying his time by reading books from the jail library.

The actor's detention has stirred a wave of emotions among his fans, who believe that his innocence will eventually be proven. The murder case itself is laden with complexities. Darshan was detained on June 11 in Mysuru, along with his partner Pavithra Gowda and eleven others, in connection to the murder of Renuka Swamy. According to the police, Renuka Swamy, a fan of Darshan, had allegedly sent a series of inappropriate and defamatory messages to Pavithra, holding her responsible for Darshan’s marital separation. The situation escalated tragically when Renuka Swamy was found murdered on June 8, his body discovered in a drain in Kamakshipalya, Bengaluru. It is believed that he was kidnapped, held captive, and tortured before succumbing to his injuries.

Fans have taken to social media platforms to voice their support for Darshan, with many questioning the accusations and the evidence presented. They have expressed their conviction that justice will prevail, emphasizing that no one is above the law and that if Darshan is innocent, he deserves to be freed.
