Famous actress Alia Bhatt opens up about mental health struggles.

Alia Bhatt has always been open about her personal experiences, from her skincare habits to her journey through motherhood. She had once shared insights into her mental health routine in a 2023 interview with Vogue India.

Alia explained that working in the entertainment industry often leads to self-criticism. To manage this, she attends weekly therapy sessions where she discusses her anxieties. “Even if there isn’t judgment, you feel very critical of yourself. But I work hard at my mental health—I go to therapy every week where I voice these fears,” Alia had said in the interview.

She added that these sessions help her realise that understanding oneself is a continuous, growing process. "And it helps me understand that this is not something that I will be able to figure out on day one or five or even ten; it's an ever-evolving, ever-growing process. You have to be able to pick up the pieces of yourself and build anew every day. There's nothing like, ‘Oh I've got it together... I'm coping excellently... I have all the answers.' No one has all the answers,” she said.

Since welcoming her daughter, Raha, in 2022 with Ranbir Kapoor, Alia has seemed to effortlessly balance her career and motherhood. Behind the scenes, however, she often feels guilty about managing both roles. In the interview, she also mentioned the pressure women face to excel both as professionals and as mothers, highlighting an outdated belief that women must sacrifice their careers after having children.

Alia stressed the importance of new mothers taking time off from work to adjust to their new roles, emphasising that workplaces should support this transition rather than penalise them.
