Akshay Kumar to make his Tollywood debut, will be seen in 'Kannappa' with Prabhas and Mohanlal

Bollywood's 'Khiladi' Akshay Kumar will soon be making his Tollywood debut with multi starrer film 'Kannappa'. The Telugu movie, which also has Prabhas, Malayalam superstar Mohanlal and Vishnu Manchu, is a mythological film. It is the story of Kannappa, a devoted follower of Lord Shiva.

Trade analyst Ramesh Bala shared the news on X and wrote: “Bollywood Superstar @akshaykumar joins the cast of Prestigious Pan-India Biggie - Actor @iVishnuManchu's Big Budget movie #Kannappa. After #Prabhas, @Mohanlal, @PDdancing and @realsarathkumar - @akshaykumar is one more grand addition to the movie's cast... Stay tuned for more exciting updates. (sic)"

Akshay Kumar had last worked in a bilingual film, 'Ashaant', in 1993, which had released in Kannada as 'Vishnu Vijaya'. He was also seen in a negative role in Tamil movie ‘2.0’ directed by Shankar also starring Tamil superstar Rajnikanth. This movie is his third venture down south.

The multi-starrer movie also stars Prabhas, Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar, Madhoo, Sarathkumar, Prabhu Deva, Brahmanandam, Mukesh Rishi, Kaushal Manda.

Akshay Kumar is currently busy promoting his upcoming action thriller 'Bade Miyan Chote Miyan'.  He will be seen sharing screen space with Tiger Shroff, Manushi Chhillar, Alay F, Ronit Roy. The movie has been directed by Ali Abbas Zafar of 'Tiger Zinda Hai' fame.

Besides Akshay Kumar there are many Bollywood actors who are working in the southern languages. Kareena Kapoor Khan is also going to make her south film debut opposite Yash soon.

Akshay in recent interactions spoke about how he dealt with break ups in the past. Akshay said that when he suffered heart break, he would "workout more as he needed to channelise the energy and gussa."

He also revealed about the weirdest fan altercations he has had. He said that once he was shaking hands with a fan and later realised there was blood on his hands and saw that the fan was carrying a blade.
