Actress Mamta Kulkarni, who had been away from the limelight for many years, has now made a grand return to Mumbai after 25 years, following a significant legal victory. Mamta had been living abroad, away from the public eye, but recent developments have brought her back to her home country.
The Bombay High Court recently cancelled an FIR against Mamta in connection with a Rs 2000 crore drug haul case registered in Thane in 2016. This legal victory has paved the way for her return to India. Mamta took to social media to share her joy and emotions about coming back home. In a heartfelt video, she expressed her gratitude and excitement. "️BACK TO MY MOTHERLAND AFTER 25 YEARS ATTENDED KUMBH MELA 2012 AFTER 12 YEARS AUSTERITY AND COME BACK EXACTLY AFTER 12 YEARS FOR ANOTHER MAHA KUMBH 2025," she wrote in the caption.
In the video, Mamta appeared emotional and overwhelmed as she described her feelings upon returning to India, particularly Mumbai. She recounted the moment her flight landed and she saw her country from the sky, which brought tears to her eyes. She shared, "After two decades, I stand on the soil where I grew up, loved, and built my dreams. Mumbai has changed, but its spirit remains eternal. It feels surreal to be back home.”
Mamta Kulkarni made her acting debut with Tirangaa in 1992 and quickly rose to fame with her bold and glamorous roles in films like Karan Arjun and Sabse Bada Khiladi. Her career, however, faced a downturn in the early 2000s due to various factors, including her shift towards more daring and often controversial roles. Despite her long absence from the film industry, Mamta remained active on social media, keeping her fans updated about her life and recent return to India.
