Businesswoman and super model Kylie Jenner’s journey to success is nothing short of remarkable. Despite often being labeled merely as a socialite, she has skillfully leveraged public interest to build a flourishing beauty empire in an astonishingly short time. However, fame is a double-edged sword, and Kylie has paid its price.
In a candid segment of Hulu’s “The Kardashians,” Kylie Jenner, now 26, shared her experiences with the harsh criticisms about her appearance and cosmetic procedures. Viewers witnessed Kylie in tears as she confided in her sister Kendall Jenner about the relentless scrutiny of her looks. "“It’s like a miracle that I still have confidence and I can still look in the mirror and think that I am pretty,” she confessed. Although she admits to being somewhat desensitized to the negative comments, she acknowledged, "I guess it does affect me."
She recounted her experience at Paris Fashion Week in September 2023, where she chose to wear minimal makeup for the first time. Despite this, she faced criticism about her looks.

“I’m wearing too much makeup and it’s like, ‘You’re wearing too much makeup.’ Then I go and I don’t wear a lot of makeup and someone catches me in a weird light,” she lamented.
Pointing to her cheeks, she remarked, “You can look at pictures since I’m 13 — I just have these lines, but I’ve had them since I was like, a child.”
In a confessional, Kylie revealed that this incident was just one of many that upset her. “I just hear nasty things about myself all the time,” she told a producer, noting that after more than a decade in the limelight, “it just gets exhausting.” Reflecting on her conversation with Kendall, Kylie questioned why people felt it was acceptable to make cruel comments.

Her sister Kendall responded, “I think that’s a general thing with our family. We’re dehumanized. They don’t think that there’s any rules with us. Whereas like, if you talked the same way you do about us about any other woman, people would come to their defense all day long.
She expressed feeling utterly desensitized to the incessant remarks about her appearance, questioning why the online world believes such behavior is acceptable.
"I detest having to have this conversation over and over again. It feels like a waste of my breath because I believe nothing will ever change with me,” seeing the toll the criticism had taken on her sister, Kendall wrapped Kylie in a comforting hug.
"Like, I've never cried about this before, but I guess it does affect me," Kylie admitted. "People have commented on my looks since I was 12 or 13, even before I had any lip fillers."
In a heartfelt confessional, Kylie shared, "I think I'm really strong, and I was put in this position for a reason. I do think of myself as a confident person... but I'm also human and there's only so much someone can take."
"Our family's been in the industry for a long time," Kendall reassured her. "Sadly it's something we need to grow tough skin on,” Kendall reassured.
Despite the ongoing negativity, Kylie later told the cameras that she remains “strong” and “confident.” Yet, she acknowledged her humanity and the limits of what she can endure.
“I always keep it pushing,” she stated. “I have to. I cannot get the comments get me down. I have s—t to do. Rise above.”
