Kylie Jenner channels Marilyn Monroe on the Met Gala red carpet, wears dress inspired by garden statues

Businesswoman and model Kylie Jenner had an old Hollywood moment on the red carpet of the 2024 Met Gala wearing an archival Givenchy gown. Jenner was dressed in a custom Oscar de la Renta gown with a dramatic and long trail and a pointy bust. The outfit simply oozed elegance and style. The cone style bra and the cinched waist transport you back to old Hollywood and it is so well put together with rosewater hues on the whole dress.

The makeup is so subtle and ethereal. It is like an angel’s skin. She’s glowing and she knows it. Her hair are slicked back tightly in a bun with an off white rose attached to it.

According to a press release from the brand, the outfit was inspired by Cecil Beaton's photography who famously photographed Marilyn Monroe. Monroe was known for wearing outfits with pointy busts so this seems like Jenner’s way of paying tribute to the Hollywood starlet whose fashion is etched in history, thus, paying ode to the theme of this year’s gala - 'Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion’.

This also takes you back to the 2022 Met Gala when her sister, Kim Kardashian, landed herself in a controversy for “damaging” a Monroe archival outfit.

The co-designers Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia created this custom look for the beauty mogul based on the garden statues written in in J. G. Ballard’s short story, ‘The Garden of Time’, which was the evening’s official dress code.

Kylie Jenner has always been a fashion icon and a diva. This marks her 7th time at the Met Gala and her outfits keep getting better year by year.

Kylie was joined by her sisters Kim Kardashian and Kendall Jenner at the event which was held at the The Metropolitan Museum in New York City.
