Pakistani actor Alyy Khan criticises Aryan Khan’s The Bads of Bollywood, says "Har sentence mein ho toh cringe hota hai"

Alyy Khan has expressed his disappointment with Aryan Khan’s directorial debut The Bads of Bollywood, saying the show’s excessive use of profanity felt unnecessary and made it difficult to watch with family. He added that abuse should be used sparingly for impact, noting that overdoing it only turns shocking moments into something cringe and boring.

Alyy Khan criticises The Bads of Bollywood

Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan made his directorial debut with Netflix’s The Bads of Bollywood, which received praise from many fans for its daring narrative, meta humor, and outstanding performances.

However, Alyy Khan, a Pakistani actor who costarred with Shah Rukh in Don 2, seems to be left unimpressed with the series. He recently revealed that he thought the show's overuse of profanity was unneeded and startling.

During his recent appearance on ARY Podcast, Alyy Khan talked about Aryan Khan’s series and said that he found it difficult to relate to its tone.

Alyy said, “Recently maine Aryan ka kaam dekha… mujhe bohot ajeeb laga. Ek toh family ke saath aap dekh nahi sakte because the language is so inappropriate. Us language ki koi justification bhi nahi thi. Aur jiss level ke log dikhaye the, kya woh aise sadak-chap language use karte hai? (Recently, I saw Aryan’s work in The Bads of Bollywood, and I found it very strange. For one, you can’t even watch it with your family because the language is so inappropriate. And there was no justification for using that kind of language. And the kind of people you were portraying. Do they use such street-style language)?”

He further noted that filmmakers may use shock value to attract viewers or increase ratings. He emphasised the need to use profanity sparingly and deliberately.

He added, “Agar gaali deni bhi hai, toh close-up ki tarah honi chahiye jab zarurat ho tab bolo, tabhi impact aata hai. Har sentence mein ho toh cringe hota hai, boriyat ho jaati hai (And even if you want to use abuses, they should come like a close-up used only when necessary. That’s when it creates impact. If it appears in every sentence, it becomes cringe and boring).”

In the past, Alyy had a cordial relationship with the Khan family. He also starred in Suhana Khan's first movie, The Archies.

Meanwhile, The Bads of Bollywood stars Bobby Deol, Lakshya, Sahher Bambba, Raghav Juyal, Anya Singh, Mona Singh, Manoj Pahwa, and Manish Chaudhari in the pivotal roles.
