Bollywood actress and soon-to-be mother Kiara Advani will make her eagerly awaited debut at the Met Gala 2025, which will be held on May 5 at the storied Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.

The 33-year-old actress, who is expecting her first child with husband Siddharth Malhotra, is getting ready to walk one of the most renowned red carpets in high fashion worldwide.

According to a recent Instagram Story by popular fashion critique platform Diet Sabya, Kiara will be donning a bespoke couture ensemble by celebrated Indian designer Gaurav Gupta.

Superfine: Tailoring Black Style, this year's Met Gala theme, promises daring and vibrant interpretations of Black influence, history, and fashion. Kiara's style, which celebrates and embraces her developing baby bump, is poised to make a significant fashion and representational statement.

Interestingly, there’s been quite a buzz on Reddit surrounding the backstory of Kiara’s Met Gala appearance. A viral post claimed that the debut was orchestrated by none other than her mentor, Ashvini Yardi.

According to the anonymous Reddit user, they had a friend who was interning at a Mumbai-based public relations firm and had a close relationship to someone who had been employed at Ashvini's vineyard until March 2025. The post claims that Kiara first turned down the chance multiple times, but Ashvini was adamant about seeing her protégé shine at the fashion show. According to reports, Manish Malhotra was the designer of the original plan, but Kiara only agreed after much prodding.

Adding further star power to this year’s event, Shah Rukh Khan is also expected to make his Met Gala debut. The Bollywood legend will reportedly wear a custom ensemble by Sabyasachi Mukherjee. Meanwhile, Punjabi singer and international sensation Diljit Dosanjh will also attend, continuing his global fashion evolution.

Priyanka Chopra Jonas, no stranger to the Met Gala, will mark her fifth appearance. She is expected to grace the carpet in a custom Balmain outfit by Olivier Rousteing, accessorised with a sparkling creation from Bulgari’s high jewellery line.
