Hollywood's former couple, Jason Momoa and Lisa Bonet’s son, Nakoa-Wolf Momoa, 16, is all set to make his acting debut. He will star alongside his father, Momoa, in the upcoming film, Dune 3.
According to Deadline, Nakoa-Wolf will play the role of Leto II, son of Paul Atreides, played by Timothée Chalamet and Chani, portrayed by Zendaya, in the upcoming instalment. The outlet revealed that the sources have informed that Ida Brooke will portray Nakoa-Wolf's on-screen twin sister, Ghanima.
Meanwhile, Momoa is reported to reprise his character, Duncan Idaho, the resurrected ghola, in the third instalment in the franchise. Additionally, the lead duo Chalamet and Zendaya are also expected to reprise their roles.
However, the makers are yet to make an official cast announcement for Dune 3. Additionally, filmmaker Denis Villeneuve returns to the director’s chair. The Oscar-nominated director brought Frank Herbert's iconic novel series to life on screen, splitting the first book into two parts.
The first two films received critical acclaim and earned 10 Oscar nominations. However, the film clinched six awards, including Best Original Score, Best Sound, Best Film Editing, Best Cinematography, Best Production Design and Best Visual Effects.
The upcoming third instalment will adapt the second novel, Dune Messiah, which takes place 12 years after the events of the first book. The upcoming film will be set 12 years after becoming Emperor and revolves around Paul Atreides, who faces a universe-wide jihad he unleashed, now a powerful but trapped messianic figure.
Dune: Messiah will open in theatres on December 16, 2026. The first two films are available to stream on Max.
