Harry Potter star Katie Leung to play antagonist in Bridgerton Season 4

Katie Leung is set to play the villainous Lady Araminta Gun in the fourth season of Bridgerton.

Fans of Shonda Rhimes's 'Bridgerton' are in for a treat. Katie Leung, best known for her role as Cho Chang in the 'Harry Potter' series, has joined the cast of the upcoming fourth season.

The season will focus on the love story between Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson) and Sophie Baek (Yerin Ha). Katie Leung is set to play the villainous Lady Araminta Gun in the fourth season of Bridgerton. According to Entertainment Weekly, her character description said she is a twice-married and twice-widowed woman with two daughters, Rosamund and Posy, who will be making their debut on the marriage mart.

Sharing the news on Instagram, the makers welcomed the newest members to the team and wrote, "New season, new faces. Welcome to Shondaland @_katieleung_, @izabearlur, and @michelleforbreakfast! Learn more about our new (and returning!) #Bridgerton cast members on shondaland.com"

As per her character description, Lady Araminta Gun, a fabulous, discerning, and blunt woman, is not easily intimidated. When Sophie challenges her social standing, Araminta becomes determined to protect her position. With her sights set on Benedict, Araminta will stop at nothing to ensure at least one of her daughters marries into high society.

The announcement of Katie Leung joining the cast of 'Bridgerton' was met with enthusiasm from fans, who quickly took to social media to express their excitement.  One fan wrote, "Can’t process that Katie is old enough to play a mother?!?! I’m so excited for her to be a part of this cast!!!"

The fourth season of 'Bridgerton' is adapted from Julia Quinn's novel 'An Offer from a Gentleman.' It will feature Benedict Bridgerton, the second Bridgerton sibling, as he meets and falls in love with a mysterious masked woman at his mother's masquerade ball. The third installment in the series, focusing on the friends-to-lovers story of Colin Bridgerton and Penelope Featherington, premiered in May.
