Brad Pitt’s much-anticipated sports drama F1: The Movie has proven to be nothing short of a global sensation since its theatrical release on 27 June, racing past expectations and collecting an astonishing ₹4,800 crore worldwide.
With its roaring success on the big screen, audiences are now eagerly looking forward to its arrival on streaming platforms.
Fans will soon be able to catch the blockbuster at home, as the film is set to release on Prime Video for rental from 22 August.
Additionally, it will make its way to Apple TV+ following its cinema run. Although Apple has yet to confirm an exact date, industry speculation points to a launch window between late September and early October.
Despite already achieving a record-breaking box office haul, F1: The Movie continues to enjoy strong demand in cinemas, especially across IMAX and other premium formats. In Mumbai, the film is being showcased at prime locations including PVR ICON Goregaon, Phoenix Palladium, Metro INOX Marine Lines and Infiniti Andheri. Meanwhile, in Delhi-NCR, cinephiles can still experience the spectacle at Cinepolis Saket, PVR Noida, PVR Select City Walk, and Director’s Cut Ambience Mall, which feature high-end technologies such as Onyx and Dolby.
Bengaluru too offers select screenings, with venues like Garuda Mall and Forum Rex Walk keeping the excitement alive.
Such enthusiasm even prompted a re-release earlier this August, extending its theatrical journey and allowing fresh audiences to witness the adrenaline-fuelled drama on the big screen.
Directed by Joseph Kosinski, the filmmaker behind Top Gun: Maverick, the film tells the story of Sonny Hayes, a once-renowned Formula 1 driver portrayed by Pitt. After a devastating injury in the 1990s cut short his career, Hayes returns to the circuit decades later, determined to help a struggling team survive against the odds.

The film boasts an impressive supporting cast featuring Damson Idris, Javier Bardem, Kerry Condon and Tobias Menzies. Adding to its credibility and authenticity, the project is produced by the legendary Jerry Bruckheimer along with Formula 1 star Lewis Hamilton, ensuring the racing sequences are as gripping and realistic as possible.
With its blend of star power, high-octane action and an emotional undercurrent, F1: The Movie has firmly cemented itself as one of the year’s biggest cinematic triumphs — both on and off the track.
