Sunny Deol has announced that actor and singer Diljit Dosanjh will join the cast of Border 2 as Fauji. The news was shared on Instagram with a captivating video featuring the message, "The bravest of the brave come together for the biggest war." Sunny Deol's post was accompanied by the caption, "Welcoming Fauji @diljitdosanjh to the Battalion of #Border2 IN," sparking excitement among fans, who eagerly commented on the post, calling the upcoming film a 'potential blockbuster'.
In the teaser video one can hear Diljit’s voice talking about how army men are ready to protect their country. He said in the video, "Iss desh ki taraf uthne wali har nazar jhukh jati hai khauf se, in sarhado par jab guru ke paas pehra dete hai (Every gaze directed towards this country bows down in fear when the watch is kept at these borders by the guru)."
Diljit Dosanjh also shared the post on his Instagram handle with the post, "Pehli Goli Dushman Chalaega aur Akhri Goli Hum! Honoured to stand with such a powerful team IN and walk in the footsteps of our Soldiers!"
In addition to Diljit Dosanjh, actor Varun Dhawan has also been introduced to the Border 2 cast in the same role. This sequel to the 1997 blockbuster Border was announced on June 13, 2024, marking 27 years since the original film's release. The makers of Border 2 have now set the release date for January 23, 2026, promising a cinematic experience filled with excitement and nostalgia.

The announcement video of the film featured Sunny Deol reflecting on the promise made 27 years ago, stating, "Twenty-seven years ago, a soldier made a promise that he would return. To fulfill that promise, to salute the soil of India, he is coming." This sentiment is reinforced by the video's background score, which includes the iconic song "Sandese Aaate Hain."
Directed by Anurag Singh, known for his work on Kesari (2019), Border 2 is produced by J.P. Dutta, Nidhi Dutta, and Bhushan Kumar. The film is expected to be a grand follow-up to J.P. Dutta’s critically acclaimed Border, continuing the legacy of its predecessor with a fresh and powerful narrative.
