Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman’s blockbuster, Deadpool & Wolverine, continues to captivate audiences and perform exceptionally well at the Indian box office. In its second weekend, the film earned an impressive Rs 7.75 crore across all languages, bringing its total 10-day collection to a remarkable Rs 109.15 crore.
Directed by Shawn Levy, the film debuted globally on July 26 and has already made a significant impact. The English version alone has grossed Rs 57.8 crore, while the Hindi version has contributed Rs 41.3 crore to the total. The Telugu and Tamil versions have also made notable contributions, with Rs 3.85 crore and Rs 6.2 crore, respectively. On Sunday, the film saw an overall English occupancy rate of 34.78%, demonstrating its sustained popularity.
In Mumbai, where Deadpool & Wolverine had 256 shows, the occupancy was 34.25%. Meanwhile, the National Capital Region (NCR) reported a seat occupancy of 25.50% across 260 shows. The film enjoyed a spectacular opening with Rs 21 crore in its debut weekend, and it quickly amassed Rs 89.9 crore in the first three days alone.
Featuring a star-studded cast including Emma Corrin, Morena Baccarin, Rob Delaney, Leslie Uggams, Aaron Stanford, and Matthew Macfadyen, Deadpool & Wolverine has become a global sensation. As of Sunday, it has grossed approximately 824.1 million dollars worldwide, with 395.6 million dollars from the US and 428.5 million dollars from international markets. This impressive haul has already surpassed the earnings of its predecessors, Deadpool ($783 million) and Deadpool 2 ($786 million).
In India, Deadpool & Wolverine is on track to surpass Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, which previously held the title of the highest-grossing Hollywood film in the country for this year with a collection of Rs 112.5 crore. The film has also outperformed several recent Bollywood releases, including Ajay Devgn and Tabu's Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha and Janhvi Kapoor’s Ulajh.
Directed by Neeraj Pandey, Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha managed to collect only Rs 2.75 crore on Sunday, totaling Rs 6.75 crore for its opening weekend. Meanwhile, Sudhanshu Saria’s Ulajh earned around Rs 2 crore on Sunday, bringing its three-day total to Rs 4.90 crore.
