Comedian Matt Rife, known for his razor-sharp wit, fearless crowd work, and dark humour, has taken a spine-chilling turn in the spotlight. In an unexpected twist, the stand-up star has officially purchased the infamous Connecticut home of Ed and Lorraine Warren, the renowned paranormal investigators whose work inspired The Conjuring universe. But that's not all, Rife is now the legal guardian of one of the most feared artifacts in paranormal lore: the haunted Annabelle doll.
Rife took to Instagram to share the news, stating, “I have officially purchased Ed and Lorraine Warren’s home and Occult Museum.” He revealed that, while he doesn’t legally own the haunted items, he is now the official guardian and caretaker of the entire supernatural collection—including the infamous Annabelle doll—for at least the next five years.
In a now-viral TikTok video, Rife explained the motivation behind the eerie acquisition. “This might be the most important and prominent piece of paranormal history in the world,” he said. “I know a lot of you guys don't know what any of this means whatsoever, but if you follow ghost stuff, this is as big as it gets.”

Rife now assumes responsibility for over 750 haunted artifacts stored in the Warren Occult Museum, an institution long associated with terrifying supernatural legends. As the new caretaker, he faces the daunting task of maintaining the integrity—and perhaps the safety—of the paranormal collection.
For horror fans, the Annabelle doll is no stranger. First appearing in the 2013 film The Conjuring, the doll's terrifying legacy spawned its own trilogy: Annabelle (2014), Annabelle: Creation (2017), and Annabelle Comes Home (2019). The final installment took place almost entirely in the Warrens’ artifact-filled residence—the very home that Rife now owns.
While the comedian is known for delivering laughs, his latest venture raises the question: will his humor be enough to survive the hauntings that have terrified paranormal experts for decades? Whether this move is a bold marketing stunt, a genuine passion for the supernatural, or both, one thing is certain—Matt Rife’s next set might be more possessed than punchy.
