Cardi B announces pregnancy with Stefon Diggs

In an emotional interview with Gayle King on CBS Mornings, rap artist Cardi B revealed she is expecting her fourth child.

The announcement coincides with a significant turning point in her life, as she gets ready to launch a major arena tour and release her eagerly anticipated second album, Am I The Drama?

The 31-year-old revealed that she and her boyfriend, NFL wide receiver Stefon Diggs, are expecting their first baby together. “I’m having a baby with my boyfriend Stefon Diggs,” Cardi told King in the segment broadcast on Wednesday, 17 September.

The pair went public with their relationship earlier this year, and the pregnancy marks a fresh new chapter for the rapper.

Her baby is due before her Little Miss Drama Tour kicks off in February, setting the stage for an intense but exciting few months. Despite the whirlwind, Cardi insisted she feels strong and empowered. “I feel like I’m in a good space. I feel very strong. I feel very powerful that I’m doing all this work. But I’m doing all this work while I’m creating a baby, and me and my man, we’re very supportive of each other.”

The news follows her highly publicised split from rapper Offset, the father of her three children — daughters Kulture and Blossom, and son Wave. Their turbulent relationship dominated headlines for years, but Cardi is now embracing a fresh start.

Speaking about her relationship with Diggs, she admitted he has brought her a sense of peace. “He just makes me feel safe and very confident and very strong,” she said. One track on her new album, titled Safe, is directly inspired by this stability.

Still, Cardi acknowledged that the pressures of releasing new music weigh heavily on her. “I mean, two weeks ago I was literally having a panic attack. I was crying and crying and crying, just because I was just getting really nervous with the whole album rollout … People were coming at me very hard. Sometimes people love you, people hate you. And people was just saying very mean things about me.”
